Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform troubleshooting and customer training on Roadway Work Equipment. You will install new machines at customer sites, train operators, and repair equipment on-site to restore proper operation.

A valid driver's license and 70-80% travel are required. The role demands a high school diploma with 5+ years as an industrial/mobile heavy equipment mechanic; an Associate’s degree is a plus, and PLC/CanBus training is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Associate’s degree is a plus.
• Training in PLC and CanBus systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recommends repair parts and product improvements to customers.
• Advises and trains customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Prepares weekly travel expense records and field reports as required.
• Works with engineering and/or production to solve problems with new machines.
• Makes positive contributions towards continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Ability to work independently and build rapport with customers.
