Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot and repair Nordco equipment at customer sites. You will train customers on proper maintenance and operation, and prepare field reports and travel expense records.

Travel 70-80% is required, with a strong emphasis on customer relationships and problem solving. The role requires a high school diploma with 5+ years in heavy equipment, plus knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of industrial/heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Associate’s degree a plus.
• PLC and CanBus troubleshooting training preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems; ability to read schematics.
• Valid Driver’s License; willingness to travel 70-80%.
• Railroad experience a plus.
• Strong problem solving and ability to work independently with customers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair customer equipment on-site.
• Train customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Recommend parts and product improvements.
• Prepare field reports and travel expense records.
• Work with engineering/production to resolve issues with new machines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Build strong customer relationships.
