Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a Field Services technician to install, troubleshoot, and train customers on Nordco equipment at customer sites. You will put new machines into service and repair existing equipment, traveling to customer locations as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 5 years as an industrial/mobile heavy equipment mechanic; an Associate’s degree is a plus. Travel is 70–80% with a valid driver’s license mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Associate’s degree a plus.
• PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting training strongly preferred.
• General mechanical experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to read schematics.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and be able to travel 70%–80%.

Responsibilities

• Recommends repair parts and product improvements to customers.
• Advises and trains customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Prepares weekly travel expense records and field reports as required.
• Works with engineering and/or production to solve problems with new machines.
• Makes positive contributions towards continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Ability to work independently and build effective rapport with customers.
