Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Lead Project Manager for highly complex capital and environmental remediation construction projects with significant cost and schedule impact. You will oversee end-to-end delivery and ensure alignment with governance standards as you collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulators in a dynamic railway environment.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, PMP/PE/CHMM certifications preferred, and a strong background in project controls, budgeting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Plus 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Environmental Science, Business or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• PMI PMP, PE, CHMM, or OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Monitor progress, costs, and contractor performance; take corrective actions.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes with escalation.
• Maintain project documentation per standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Establish partnerships for scoping, planning, resource allocation, and objectives.
