Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Conductor in Eugene, Oregon to move freight safely and efficiently. Training will be provided both in the classroom and hands-on, with outdoor work in all weather conditions and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You will work a full-time schedule in a 24/7 environment, read and follow railroad rules, and coordinate with a certified trainer or supervisor to ensure timely operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Comply with railroad safety and operational regulations.
• Communicate with team members using signals or radio instructions.
• Operate track switches to determine train routes.
• Inspect train and equipment for safety compliance.
• Read rule books and reports; document train activities.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
