Job summary

King County Metro is seeking an Administrator II to support Rail Division operations in a hybrid work setting. You will backfill for higher-level administrators and help lead the administration side of the unit.

The role focuses on front-line administration, budget and personnel support, and process improvement, with opportunities to build leadership experience while serving diverse internal and external customers across facilities in Seattle and Bellevue.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Ability to develop, prepare and maintain complex database reports.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with administrative support and problem solving in a public agency context.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate methods for monitoring administrative systems.
• Participate in strategic planning and policy/procedure development.
• Maintain organized records including digital and physical files.
• Provide technical expertise to internal staff as needed.
• Represent the work unit on internal/external committees or task forces.
• Serve as liaison between manager and internal/external groups.
• Maintain data materials using MS Office 365 and database systems.
• Reconcile uniform invoices, payments and packing slips.
• Review labor contracts for annual safety boot and tool allowances.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
