Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist. You will perform standard, portable, and specialized X-ray exams, prepare patients, and ensure image quality for radiologist interpretation.

You will maintain safety, process films, transfer images to PACS, and follow regulatory guidelines, including BCLS within 30 days. Comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• AMA accredited program with certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology.
• ARRT CE credits: 24 bi-annually.
• ARRT Registered with RT(R) or Registry eligible (registered within one year).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and perform X-ray exams following safety procedures.
• Develop and process films; transmit to Radiologist for interpretation.
• Administer contrast media and medications per scope of practice and regulations.
• Ensure prompt transfer of images/docs to PACS with proper markers and data.
• Maintain aseptic technique between patients and clean/sterilize equipment.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Radiology Technologist operates standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. What you will do in this role:

• You will prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• You will develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation.
• You will administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• You will ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
• You will turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
• You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited program with a certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology.
• Should adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits bi-annually.
• Must be ARRT Registered with ARRT – RT(R) or Registry eligible (must be registered within one year of completing program).
