Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner, ensuring safety and cleanliness.


Position Requirements

Formal Education / Training: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree; compliance with CE requirements.
BLS: Required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Preferably at least one year in a clinical setting post-graduation; willing to train otherwise.

Equipment and Skills: Knowledge of various x-ray equipment and computers; training provided on Williamson-specific equipment; experience in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies preferred.

Physical Environment: Practice radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort: Ability to manipulate equipment, assist with patient movement, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, make decisions in emergencies, and maintain emotional stability.


Performance Standards
  1. Verify patient identity and physician orders for accuracy.
  2. Question female patients (12-50) about pregnancy and document appropriately.
  3. Inquire about allergies and medical history before administering contrast media.
  4. Follow radiation safety protocols, including ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY.
  5. Maintain patient dignity and comfort during exams and transport.
  6. Assist in other areas during downtime and utilize time effectively.
  7. Check on patients in hallways to ensure comfort and safety.
  8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork, making appropriate decisions.
  9. Volunteer for overtime and fill-in shifts as needed.
  10. Follow safety procedures to ensure patient safety during movement and imaging.
  11. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies.
  12. Collaborate effectively with staff to optimize equipment use and fulfill requests.
