Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, and safe environment.

Position Requirements
  • Earned a Radiologic Technology diploma or degree from an accredited college or university. Must meet CE requirements.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Prefer at least one year of clinic setting experience post-graduation; training available.
  • Knowledge of various x-ray equipment and computers. Training on Williamson-specific equipment will be provided. Previous training in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies is preferred.
  • Practices radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging setting.
  • Ability to manipulate equipment, assist in patient movement, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, and make decisions in urgent situations. Must demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health.
Performance Standards
  1. Verify patient identity and physician order accuracy before studies.
  2. Question female patients (ages 12-50) about pregnancy and document appropriately.
  3. Assess allergies and medical history when administering contrast media.
  4. Follow radiation safety protocols, including ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY.
  5. Maintain patient dignity and comfort during exams and transport.
  6. Assist in other areas during downtime and utilize time effectively.
  7. Check on waiting patients to ensure comfort and coverage.
  8. Display leadership and teamwork; make appropriate decisions.
  9. Volunteer for overtime and fill-in shifts as needed.
  10. Ensure patient safety during movement and while on the radiology table.
  11. Perform high-quality studies consistently.
  12. Collaborate with staff to optimize equipment use and fulfill requests efficiently.
