Position Summary

Provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, and safe environment.

Position Requirements

Education: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree; must meet CE requirements.

Certification: BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Experience: Preferably at least one year in a clinical setting post-graduation; willing to train.

Skills: Knowledge of various x-ray equipment and computers; training available on specific equipment; previous experience in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies preferred.

Physical Environment & Effort: Practice radiation safety; ability to manipulate equipment, assist patients, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, and make decisions in emergencies.

Performance Standards
  1. Verify patient identity and physician orders before procedures.
  2. Question female patients (12-50) about pregnancy and document accordingly.
  3. Assess allergies and medical history for patients receiving contrast media.
  4. Ensure radiation safety for all, following ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY principles.
  5. Maintain patient dignity and comfort during procedures and transport.
  6. Assist in other areas during downtime and utilize time effectively.
  7. Check on waiting patients to ensure comfort.
  8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork, especially in challenging situations.
  9. Volunteer for overtime and fill-in shifts as needed.
  10. Follow safety procedures during patient transfers and monitor patient safety on the imaging table.
  11. Perform high-quality studies consistently.
  12. Collaborate with staff to maximize equipment use and fulfill physician and patient requests.
