Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a PRN basis. You will perform radiographs and assist physicians in diagnosis with compassionate patient care, while maintaining imaging quality and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include proper patient positioning, documentation in MEDITECH, and collaboration with radiologists and staff. The role requires ARRT certification, Florida licensure (CRT), and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school.
• Valid ARRT certification is required.
• Active Florida licensure (CRT) is required.
• BLS certification must be current.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographs (X-ray) and related procedures for diagnostic purposes.
• Ensure quality imaging and proper lead markers with date/time stickers where indicated.
• Position patients safely and comfortably and assist with contrast media when indicated.
• Document pertinent clinical information accurately in MEDITECH before exams.
• Maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Radiology Technologist

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a PRN basis. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment and perform procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray Tech) include but are not limited to:

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures
• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices as appropriate
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies

Qualifications

• Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school
• Valid ARRT certification
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
