Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a PRN role. The XRAY Tech will perform radiographs to aid diagnosis and ensure precise, compassionate patient care, while adhering to safety and documentation standards.

Responsibilities include image quality, positioning, contrast administration support, and collaboration with radiologists and staff. Prioritizes patient comfort and procedural accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program (AMA-approved school).
• Valid ARRT certification (Active).
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographs (x-rays) of patients to assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment.
• Ensure high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images with proper lead markers and date/time stickers.
• Select appropriate technical factors and techniques for patients and contrast administration.
• Prepare, transfer and position patients ensuring modesty and safety.
• Document clinical information prior to exams and complete required MEDITECH fields.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, radiologists and caregivers.
• Check equipment operation and maintain cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Ourimagingteams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a PRN opportunity. As an X-Ray Tech on our team, you will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnoses/treatment and carefully perform procedures accurately and in a compassionate and respectful manner.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) may include:

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic
• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patients and assist in administration of contrast media
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school
• Valid ARRT certification
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment (100+/- lbs)
