HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for PRN coverage to operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in angiography and IR lab procedures.

The role requires ARRT, Florida CRT, BLS, and 1–3 years radiology experience with IR preferred; responsibilities include patient positioning, image acquisition, contrast administration, and collaboration with radiologists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate Degree from a 2‑year AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
• Valid ARRT credential.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1–3 years licensed experience in radiology; IR experience preferred.
• Angio, peripheral, and neuro experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accountability and perform procedures in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
• Prepare and position patients and equipment safely according to procedures.
• Perform radiographic procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in administration of contrast media per policy.
• Obtain high‑quality radiographic images and review for quality standards.
• Document patient information prior to exams, including history, pregnancy, allergies, and consent.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Rotate call assignments.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Interventional Radiology Technologist

We are seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist on a PRN basis to operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography, as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology Lab (scrubbing, circulating, and recording/monitoring patient status).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accountability and responsibility and perform procedures in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
• Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
• Perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in the administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
• Obtain high‑quality radiographic images and review radiographs to ensure quality standards have been met.
• Document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, including patient history, pregnancy status, allergies, and obtain informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, providing explanations of procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists.
• Be responsible for rotating call assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Associate Degree from a 2‑year AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology

• Valid ARRT credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1‑3 years licensed experience in radiology; one (1) year of IR experience preferred
• Angio, peripheral, and neuro experience a plus
