Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, safe, and clean environment.

Position Requirements
  • Formal Education / Training: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree; compliance with CE requirements.
  • BLS: Required within 90 days of hire.
  • Workplace Experience: Preference for at least one year clinical experience; training available.
  • Equipment and Skills: Knowledge of various x-ray equipment and computers; training on Williamson-specific equipment; previous training in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies preferred.
  • Physical Environment: Practice radiation safety and universal precautions.
  • Physical Effort: Ability to manipulate equipment, assist patient movement, bend, twist, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, and make decisions in urgent situations. Maintain emotional stability and psychological health.
Performance Standards
  1. Verify patient ID and physician order before proceeding.
  2. Question female patients (12-50) about pregnancy and document.
  3. Assess allergies and medical history for patients receiving contrast media.
  4. Ensure radiation safety using ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY principles.
  5. Maintain patient dignity and comfort throughout procedures.
  6. Assist in other areas during downtime and utilize time effectively.
  7. Check on waiting patients for comfort and pain management.
  8. Exhibit leadership and teamwork, make appropriate decisions.
  9. Volunteer for overtime and fill-in shifts when needed.
  10. Follow safety procedures when moving patients and monitor patient safety during procedures.
  11. Perform high-quality, consistent imaging studies.
  12. Collaborate with staff to optimize equipment use and fulfill requests efficiently.
