Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, safe, and clean environment.

Position Requirements

Education / Training: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree from an accredited college or university; compliance with CE requirements.

Certification: BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Preferably at least one year of clinic setting experience post-graduation; willing to train otherwise.

Skills and Equipment Knowledge: General knowledge of x-ray equipment and computers; training provided on specific equipment and processes at Williamson Health. Experience with fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies is preferred and will be performed daily.

Physical Environment and Effort: Practice radiation safety and universal precautions; ability to manipulate equipment, assist in patient movement, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, make decisions in emergencies, and demonstrate emotional stability in interactions.

Performance Standards
  1. Verify patient identification and physician order accuracy before studies.
  2. Question female patients (ages 12-50) about pregnancy and document responses.
  3. Inquire about allergies and medical history for patients receiving contrast media.
  4. Ensure radiation safety for all, following ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY principles.
  5. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring proper coverage during exams and transport.
  6. Assist in other areas during downtime and utilize time effectively.
  7. Check on patients in hallways to ensure comfort and coverage.
  8. Display leadership and teamwork, making appropriate decisions in difficult situations.
  9. Volunteer for overtime and fill-in shifts as needed.
  10. Follow safety procedures when moving patients and monitor patient safety on the radiology table.
  11. Perform high-quality studies consistently.
  12. Collaborate with staff to optimize equipment use and fulfill all requests efficiently.
