Job summary

PSCFL is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate x-ray equipment and provide safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging. The role emphasizes patient safety, ALARA principles, and precise documentation of exam details within Cerner and PACS systems.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning, performing portable exams in OR/ED, and maintaining equipment and room readiness. Florida license, ARRT, and BLS are required, with strong teamwork and communication skills essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Florida general x-ray license in good standing.
• ARRT registered (RT).
• American Heart Association BLS certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Uses radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs while adhering to ALARA and safety policies.
• Document exam details such as Fluoro time, KVp, and mAS in the electronic record (Cerner).
• Adjusts equipment, selects technique, and positions patients to obtain correct images.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
• Follows patient-identification policy using two identifiers before examinations.
• Enters patient data into PACS for interpretation immediately after exams.
• Maintains radiation safety practices, infection control, and room cleanliness.
• Prepares patients, explains procedures, assists patient onto/off the table.
• Performs portable exams in operating rooms, ED, and inpatient areas; familiar with C-arm use.
• Keeps equipment clean, monitors inventory, and stocks the scan room.
• Performs QA, completes exams, and transmits data in a timely manner.
• Reports equipment issues to clinical engineering or supervisor.
