Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with a focus on patient safety and ALARA principles. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to obtain histories, position patients, and document doses accurately.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
• Certification with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• BLS certification (required before independent patient care at certain Mercy locations).
• State licensure (preferred).
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and lab work for licensed practitioners.
• Position and immobilize patient to best demonstrate the area of interest.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Operate imaging equipment to perform radiographic procedures.
• Verify informed consent and document pre/post procedure steps.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic/radiographic procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications/contrast as prescribed.
• Receive and document orders in the medical record.
• Evaluate image quality and document patient dose exposures.
• Interact professionally with physicians, staff, and patients.
