Job summary

Heywood Healthcare Inc. in Massachusetts seeks a Per Diem Scheduling Clerk to coordinate exam scheduling across Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and CT departments. You will contact parties, use the hospital system, enter orders, verify patient information, and ensure accurate charges and timely patient flow.

The role requires strong word processing, computer, and telephone skills, experience with medical terminology, and English communication. Meditech experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with medical terminology required.
• Meditech experience preferred.
• Excellent word processing and computer skills required.
• Experience with billing and insurance preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and in writing required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the scheduling of exams so that all exams are scheduled correctly with all parties involved contacted.
• Utilizes the hospital scheduling system to schedule exams for Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and CT departments.
• Provides assistance and direction, via telephone and computer, to physician office staff in scheduling examinations.
• Operates the hospital computer system to ensure correct exams are performed and charges are accurate.
• Enters physician orders and ensures correct exams and charges.
• Coordinates image library access and tracks exam releases and patient information.
• Greets patients and manages arrival while coordinating with departments for timely flow.
• Ensures patient information is accurate at scheduling.
