OrthoAtlanta, LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking a patient-care referral coordinator to join our growing orthopedic and sports medicine practice. You will prioritize referrals, verify benefits, and coordinate with providers to ensure timely, quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical environment.
• Knowledge of insurance plans and verification procedures.
• Customer service experience in a patient-facing role.
• Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred).
• Experience using Epic EMR system (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and schedule referrals based on urgency, ensuring timely follow-up and seamless handoffs to specialists and providers
• Accurately collect and enter demographic, insurance, and clinical information into the EMR to support referral processes
• Verify insurance benefits, contact payers for pre-authorization, and communicate clinical details when necessary to establish medical necessity
• Explain referral expectations, co-pays, or deductibles, and answer questions to ensure patients are informed and prepared
• Build strong relationships with referral offices, community providers, and internal teams to support smooth transitions of care
• Serve as a go-to contact for staff regarding authorizations, procedural codes, and insurance requirements
• Are highly organized and thrives on coordination and accuracy
• Understand insurance plans and authorization requirements
• Communicates clearly, compassionately, and professionally
• Love helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident

Schedule: Full-time Hourly, OnSite, Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM
