Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Professional Fee Radiology Coder to accurately code professional radiology services based on provider documentation and coding guidelines. The role involves CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding, validation of documentation, and adherence to CMS and payer policies.

The coder will work with EHRs and coding platforms, ensuring high accuracy, timely submissions, and collaboration with Revenue Cycle teams. Requires 3+ years of experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional radiology coding experience.
• Proficient in CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers and professional component requirements.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiology terminology.
• Proficiency with EHRs, encoders (e.g., 3M), and coding workflows.

Responsibilities

• Reviews radiology reports and assigns accurate CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes for professional radiology services.
• Applies appropriate modifiers and professional component coding requirements based on documentation and payer requirements.
• Codes diagnostic imaging services (radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, etc.).
• Validates that documentation supports procedure, diagnosis, and medical necessity; resolves discrepancies.
• Applies CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and payer-specific guidance to radiology encounters.
