Job summary

Syringa Hospital & Clinics is seeking a leader for the Radiology Department to plan, organize, and direct overall operations, ensuring patient care quality and compliance with all regulations. This role collaborates with the director on EHR continuity, budgeting, and policy development, while guiding staff and maintaining accreditation readiness.

The position leads daily imaging operations, directs staff evaluations, and participates in committees to align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Radiology program or an approved Ultrasonography program required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a lead type position within Radiology.
  • ARRT Registered with current licensure.
  • May start IVs upon completion of approved training and orientation.

  • Oversee daily operation to ensure proper workflow and timely completion of radiologic procedures.
  • Organizes and directs daily operations in the Imaging Department.
  • Monitors equipment and reports any needed repairs.
  • Oversee and direct Imaging staff; orients new staff and performs employee evaluations.
  • Develop/enhance policies and procedures including those associated with radiologists.
  • Attend hospital and department meetings, including managers meetings.

Job Summary

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Department of Radiology. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and assures competency of all radiology personnel. Assists in formulating the department budget. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Creates the department schedule and serves on committees as needed. Actively engages in XR/CT/MRI/US accreditation. Actively engages in survey readiness. Performs other delegated tasks as needed and performs employee evaluations in radiology.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee daily operation to ensure proper workflow and timely completion of radiologic procedures.
  • Understands and follows departmental policies and procedures.
  • Works with Director for EHR continuities.
  • Organizes and directs daily operations in the Imaging Department.
  • Monitors equipment and reports any needed repairs.
  • Oversee and direct Imaging staff; orients new staff and performs employee evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with survey readiness as closely as possible.
  • Front line interface to resolve issues that arise in departments, with providers, as well as other departments in order to keep patient care top priority.
  • PACS operations and outlying viewing capabilities (may require travel to surrounding areas).
  • Develop/enhance policies/procedures including those associated with radiologists.
  • Attend hospital and department meetings, including managers meetings.
  • Strive to maintain positive employee relations, scheduling group, and individual meetings, as necessary.
  • Review and update departmental policies and procedures annually to better accomplish goals and objectives of the Department of Radiology.
  • Responsible for program development.
  • Assists in planning marketing activities in order to assess needs of referral sources and maintain positive relations.
  • Is responsible for working with Director to grow department, meet organizational goals, and assist SHC in fulfilling its mission.
  • Must maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional relationship and rapport with coworkers, patients, and hospital personnel.
  • Responsible for public relations with all customers.
  • Position requires access to highly confidential information.
  • Attendance in quarterly leadership training required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Radiology program or an approved Ultrasonography program required.
