Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Imaging Services Operations Manager to ensure high quality, cost-effective operation of Imaging Services across multiple sites. You will supervise staff, manage budgets and coordinate with physicians, staff and leadership to deliver excellent clinical access and patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and strong collaboration with Radiology leadership to maintain service quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years management experience in a healthcare environment or two (2) years supervisory experience in Medical Imaging.
• Associates degree in Radiology or two years of directly related experience; High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proven leadership, change management and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of imaging procedures, equipment and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise staff; develop competency programs and ensure patient age-appropriate care.
• Manage department budget, cost control and long-term planning, coordinate with Imaging Operations Manager.
• Communicate department policies and QA activities; support organizational goals and a good clinical access.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulatory agencies and radiation safety; assist in regulatory readiness.

Job Summary:

Under direction and guidance of the Regional Director, Director of Business, Operations and Strategy, and Imaging Operations Manager, ensures high quality, cost effective operation of Imaging Services, including direct-report supervisors and staff; by planning, developing, managing, directing the operations; interfacing with Specialties Operations Manager, physicians, supporting staff and providing the department means for good clinical access, outcomes, affordability, employee satisfaction and excellent customer service.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Monitor/Supervision: Develops and maintains highly qualified staff through the development and implementation of competency programs. Ensures care is appropriate to the age and cultural background of patients. Manages staff within AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY, including hiring, staff development and coaching and counseling as necessary. In PARTNERSHIP with Radiologist Section Chiefs manages a multiple-site, busy, complex environment with a diverse work group that include physicians, technical and clerical staffing, that must function under necessary resources and physical constraints as well as regulatory issues. Ensures quality of care by providing staff with the tools needed to perform effectively. Responsible for department equipment operation and maintenance. Area of responsibility may include multiple geographic locations and multiple modalities.
• Budget & Statistical Analysis: Has a responsibility for financial viability of department through budget development and implementation, expense control and quality improvement. Plans for future, long term capital and staffing resources as directed by Imaging Operations Mgr. Responsible for planning, managing, directing, coordinating and integrating support for business and analytical activities for AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY. Supplies the Imaging Operations Manager with necessary information to allow a good overview of operations. Budgetary Accountabilities for Area of Responsibility: Coordinates and develops department budget. Actively communicates with Director and senior managers regarding fiscal budget. Manage, develop and maintain a fee schedule for use by internal customers (RIM, CPT/RVU Coding).
• Communicates: Develops, interprets, and implements AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY policies and procedures, QA activities. Communicates and supports organizational philosophy and goals; provides timely information to staff. Promote and support LMP environment.
• Regulatory: Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies and maintains radiation safety. Perform other duties or projects as requested.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years management experience in a healthcare environment or minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in Medical Imaging (Team Lead and Imaging Quality & Compliance Coordinator may be considered for this requirement).

Education

• Associates degree in an accredited Radiology program OR two (2) years of directly related experience.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration
