Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• One year of clerical experience in a hospital or physician's office preferred.
• Medical Terminology course (6 months upon hire) requested.

Responsibilities

• Maintains radiology CDs/images and reports, including release of information to authorized individuals.
• Performs daily inspections on radiologist reading workstations and escalates findings to Radiology IT.
• Creates electronic files for release of information, including subpoenas, using proper forms.
• Greets patients, verifies prescriptions with providers, and schedules patients as needed.
• Manages and distributes patient radiology imaging and PHI records.
• Transports patients as required following safety protocols.
• Coordinates imaging exam workflow for timely interpretation by physicians.
• Performs audits on exams pending interpretation or misfiled electronic files.
• Communicates imaging findings to caregivers and ensures correct transmission of critical results.
