Job summary

Memorial Health in Springfield, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Imaging clerk to provide film library services and clerical support across the Medical Imaging Services team. Strong interpersonal skills, basic computer literacy, and familiarity with medical terminology are preferred, with on-site work

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Minimum of 1 year secretarial/clerical experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills required.
• Medical terminology background preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Near visual acuity to assure proper filing and handling of records required.
• Moderate physical effort.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient, visitor, physician and staff support with courtesy and professionalism.
• Greets and registers/checks in outpatients in a positive, accurate manner.
• Rounds in Imaging reception areas and liaises between modalities and patients/families.
• Answers phones to provide great customer service and meet needs.
• Prepares digital images for continuation of care and medical records.
• Ensures proper recording and transmission of patient and exam information.
• Monitors the RIS to ensure operations run smoothly and relay issues to staff.
• Acts as liaison between patient floors, staff, physicians and radiologists for reporting results.
• Provides assistance to physicians, students and residents.
• Reviews and performs account merges to maintain patient data accuracy.
