Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL seeks a detail-oriented Imaging Services Clerk to handle radiology CDs, reports, and PHI. You will greet patients, verify prescriptions, schedule, and support communication between departments.

You will manage electronic release of information, ensure timely interpretation workflows, perform audits, and maintain workstation inspections while upholding patient safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required
• One year of clerical experience in hospital or physician office preferred
• Medical Terminology Course (6 months upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, verify prescriptions with providers, schedule patients as needed.
• Answer department and reading room phones, direct callers and provide follow up as needed.
• Communicate imaging findings to caregivers and verify transmission of critical findings.
• Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, beds or neuro chairs, including those with oxygen and IV equipment.
• Create electronic release of information files for authorized individuals, including subpoenas, using proper forms.
• Manage electronic imaging exam workflow for timely interpretation by physicians.
• Audit exams pending final interpretation or misstored electronic files.
• Distribute radiology records and PHI; handle original films, CDs/DVDs and electronic transfers.
• Perform daily inspections on radiologist reading workstations and escalate IT issues.
• Maintain patient records and ensure secure access and appropriate release of information.
