Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• Clinical experience as part of educational program in medical imaging.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepares patients for exams and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner or certified technologist.
• Assists physicians and technologists in diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) including contrast administration.
• Retrieves patient orders and requisitions in RIS, EMR or other workflow applications.
• Assists patients with restroom needs and other ancillary clinical support tasks.
• Supports administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
