Massena Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology procedures, CT, and mammography as part of the Medical Imaging department in Massena, NY. The role involves on-site work, with on-call requirements and day/evening shifts, per diem.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program, hold NYS licensure or obtain it within six months, and have ARRT certification if licensed after 2007, plus BLS within 3 months.

  • Must hold NYS license in Radiologic Technology or obtain licensure within six months of hire.
  • If licensed after 2007 must obtain ARRT Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Radiology, CT scans, and/or mammography/bone density procedures.
  • Assist radiologist in interventional procedures and provide images for interpretation.
  • Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in QA/QC procedures and maintain image quality and equipment safety.

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Multi ModalStatus: Per DiemDepartment: Medical ImagingLocation: Massena Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive Massena, NY 13662Schedule: Days/Evenings, M-F, 8 hr variable shifts, on call requirementSUMMARY:Performs diagnostic radiological procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by the radiologist, governing and professional bodies. Assists radiologist in fluoroscopy and special procedure examinations. Performs administrative duties as set forth by policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs Radiology, CT’s and/or mammography/bone density procedures utilizing the principles and knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and Radiologic techniques.Assists radiologist in the performance of Radiology interventional procedures and provides appropriate images for interpretation.Follows all regulatory and organizational guidelines for patient/staff screening and Radiology safety and provides Radiologic safety education to anyone who may have contact with Radiologic equipment.Follows organizational standards to include but not limited to patient identification, patient education, consents, and order verification and infection control.Participates in all QA/QC procedures as designated and maintains standards of these programs. This includes processes involving Radiologic equipment, image quality, documentation and Radiologic safety.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology programNYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.If licensed after 2007 must obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.Must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hirePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1 or more years of experience in CT and/or Mammography.Registered in CT and/or Mammography with the ARRT.UNION:CSEA (MH)Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligibleEDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.PAY RANGE:$34.02 - $49.47The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
