St.-Lawrence Health System Gouverneur Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiology, CT, and mammography/bone density exams under radiologist supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State DOH licensure required.
• Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform Radiology, CTs and/or mammography/bone density procedures per approved techniques.
• Assist radiologist in interventional procedures and provide quality images.
• Follow Radiology safety guidelines and educate staff on safety.
• Adhere to patient identification, education, consents, and infection control.

JOB TITLE: Radiologic Technologist Multi ModalSTATUS: Per DiemLOCATION: Gouverneur Hospital - 77 West Barney Street Gouverneur, NY 13642DEPARTMENT: Medical ImagingSCHEDULE: Days/Evenings, M-F, 8hr variable shifts, weekend and on call requirementSUMMARYPerforms diagnostic radiological procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by the radiologist, governing and professional bodies. Assists radiologist in fluoroscopy and special procedure examinations. Performs administrative duties as set forth by policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES( 35%) Performs Radiology, CT’s and/or mammography/bone density procedures utilizing the principles and knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and Radiologic techniques.(25%) Assists radiologist in the performance of Radiology interventional procedures and provides appropriate images for interpretation.(15%) Follows all regulatory and organizational guidelines for patient/staff screening and Radiology safety and provides Radiologic safety education to anyone who may have contact with the Radiologic equipment.(15%) Follows organizational standards to include but not limited to patient identification, patient education, consents, and order verification and infection control.(10%) Participates in all QA/QC procedures as designated and maintains standards of these programs. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
