Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a CT Technologist for full-time evening shifts. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating CT scanners, and ensuring patient safety during procedures. Hours: 10-hour shifts - 1:00pm to 11:30pm

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have.
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times.
• Monitor patients as a CT Technologist to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam; you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures.
• Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images.
• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene.
• Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP).
• Maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license.

Qualifications

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• Effective July 1, 2017 appropriate national certifications in two modalities required.
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
• One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.
