Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Per Diem CT Technologist at Dallas Medical Center, Dallas, TX. This role involves operating CT scanners and X-ray machines, positioning patients, and ensuring safety throughout the procedure.

You will work closely with radiologists, assist with contrast administration, and maintain equipment and quality assurance to produce accurate images. ARRT-CT certification and BCLS are required, with an emphasis on patient empathy and safety.

Qualifications

  • One year of acute radiology experience preferred.
  • ARRT-CT certification required.
  • Radiology license/fluoroscopy permit as required by state.
  • BCLS (AHA) upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and position them for CT; explain the procedure with empathy.
  • Operate CT scanners and X-ray machines; adjust settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the CT procedure.
  • Assist radiologists and help administer contrast agents or perform certain procedures.
  • Accountable for quality assurance of CT scanners and X-ray equipment to ensure proper function and accurate images.
  • Maintain radiologic supplies and ensure equipment is in good operating order; follow infection control protocols.
  • Maintain ARRT-CT certification status as required.

Overview

Employment Type: PRN

Shifts Available: Days

Hours:8-hour shifts

Location: Dallas Medical Center; Dallas, TX

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on theComputer Tomography (CT)table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings tooptimizeimage quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safetyat all times
  • Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • Assistother radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may alsoassistin administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
  • Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produceaccurateimages
  • Responsible formaintainingradiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocolsregardinginfection control and hygiene
  • Maintainyour register status for the American RegistryofRadiologicTechnologists (ARRT)
Qualifications

1. One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.2. Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required.3. Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.4. Radiology/ CT license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State. 5. ARRT-CT Certification is required6. Must possess and maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.7. Proficient computer skills.
