Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Radiography program.
• Associates degree and one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
• Florida License in Radiography; ARRT registration in Radiography (R); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality images for the Diagnostic Imaging department, we well as assigned areas including the operating department, pain management, and the gastrointestinal department that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Department.
• Identifies patients using two patient identifiers, verifies order, and analyzes exam information.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, body habitus, and proper patient positioning for various imaging studies
• Utilizes resources available to achieve optimum exam.
• Consistently applies correct identification and labeling of images and/or specimens to ensure accuracy.
• Demonstrates initiative and problem solving while exhibiting judgment and realistic understanding of situations. Involves other individuals when appropriate.
• Follows appropriate medication administration and documentation.
• Provides and offers direct and indirect supervision and assistance as necessary.
• Participates in emergency preparedness procedures.
• Complete safety training as required.
• Adheres to proper safety attire and imaging parameters for exams.
• Educates and screens patients, families, and caregivers for contraindications to an exam.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked work area.
