Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT registration required or eligible within 6 months of hire.

Job Description Summary $10,000 sign-on bonus + up to $5,000 relocation assistance available As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at MUSC, you have access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment to capture detailed X-ray images, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of medical conditions across 16 community hospitals including 3 level 1 trauma centers and many unique outpatient clinics across South Carolina. Compensation & Incentives

Shift Details

Schedule: Days, Nights, Weekends. Hours: Varies based on shift. Call requirements: 3 on-call days every 13 weeks. Holiday expectations: Rotating Schedule.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for physician interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed and under the supervision of a physician.
• Verifies patient identification, examination orders, and relevant clinical information prior to procedures.
• Positions patients appropriately and operates radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness and obtains additional images when necessary.
• Follows radiation safety practices and applicable departmental and regulatory standards.
• Documents examinations and patient information accurately in the appropriate electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in accordance with department standards and infection prevention protocols.

Required License, Certification, and Registration

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience.
• Required Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). If not registered must obtain the registry within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
