Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists in Florida is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. You will prepare, simulate, and deliver precise radiotherapy to patients across all ages, ensuring ALARA principles and careful documentation in the EMR.

Responsibilities include patient setup, dose administration, QA checks, and cross-department collaboration. ARRT-registered and state-licensed therapists are preferred; weekend and after-hours coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School for Radiation Therapy.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (T) in good standing.
• State licensed (mandatory where required).
• CPR certified; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or construct equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, or protection devices.
• Position patients for simulation and treatment with accuracy according to prescription.
• Administer prescribed doses of radiation using therapy equipment per established practices.
• Document simulations, treatments and patient care activities in the EMR.
• Check radiation therapy and simulation equipment for proper operation per QA procedures.
• Review prescription, diagnosis, patient chart before initiating treatment.
• Follow ALARA principles for patient, self, and others.
• Coordinate and plan patient schedules to optimize resources.
