Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Radiation Therapist at Via Christi Cancer Center in Wichita, KS. The role involves executing prescribed radiation treatments with precise dosages and collaborating with physicians to ensure accuracy and safety.

You will position patients using advanced imaging, document the treatment journey, and help maintain equipment readiness to avoid delays. The position requires BLS within 30 days, Kansas radiologic licensure, and ARRT credentials in Radiation Therapy or Radiography.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• Kansas Radiologic Technologist license required.
• ARRT credentials in Radiation Therapy or Radiography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute precise radiation treatments as prescribed, ensuring correct dosage for each patient.
• Collaborate with physicians and dosimetrists to review and deliver treatment plans.
• Position patients with technical precision and compassionate care using imaging and marking techniques.
• Maintain patient care records and imaging data for the care team.
• Oversee calibration and readiness of advanced equipment like linear accelerators to prevent delays.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Execute precise radiation treatments as prescribed by the clinical team, ensuring each patient receives the exact dosage needed for their personalized healing plan.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and dosimetrists to review and deliver complex treatment plans, acting as a final safeguard for patient safety and clinical accuracy.
• Prepare and position patients with both technical precision and a compassionate touch, utilizing advanced imaging and marking techniques to ensure maximum comfort and treatment efficacy.
• Manage the integrity of patient care records and imaging data, ensuring every detail of the treatment journey is documented accurately for the broader care team.
• Maintain a high-performance clinical environment by overseeing the calibration and readiness of advanced equipment, such as linear accelerators, to prevent delays in patient care.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Radiation Therapist licensed in the state of Kansas prior to start date.
