Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the Diagnostic Radiology department at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, KS. The role features rotating PRN schedules and a focus on high-quality diagnostic imaging in a safety-conscious environment.

You will position patients, select precise technical parameters, and ensure accurate imaging while protecting patients from unnecessary exposure. This position emphasizes readiness of the imaging suite and collaboration with clinicians.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT Radiography credential within 90 days of hire.
• Kansas Board of Healing Arts Radiologic Technologist license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic images to assist physicians.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain a zero-harm environment.
• Position patients precisely and select optimal technical parameters.
• Verify data accuracy and lead markers before submission to PACS.
• Monitor equipment and optimize clinical protocols for readiness.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Produce high quality diagnostic images that empower physicians to make accurate, life-saving diagnoses for every patient.


• Advocate for patient safety by strictly managing radiation exposure and meticulously following safety protocols to ensure a \"zero-harm\" environment.


• Execute precision imaging by expertly positioning patients and selecting exact technical parameters to ensure diagnostic accuracy.


• Manage the digital patient record by verifying data accuracy and lead markers before submission to PACS, maintaining a seamless continuum of care.


• Maintain a high-readiness environment by monitoring equipment performance and optimizing clinical protocols to ensure the department is always prepared for the next patient.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.


• Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
