Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector seeks a Radiation & Survivability Engineering NG Fellow 1 to lead strategy for radiation hardening and survivability across programs. The Fellow will shape standards, guide test methodologies, and interface with customers and national labs to advance mission-critical electronics.

The role demands deep expertise in TID/SEE, system hardening, and nuclear survivability, with responsibilities spanning leadership, external representation, and technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in STEM with 15+–20+ years of engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in TID, SEE, DD, prompt dose, SGEMP, neutron effects.
• U.S. citizen with SCI access or Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain/maintain SCI.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide radiation and nuclear survivability strategy and standards.
• Interface with customers, government agencies, and national labs to guide program decisions.
• Drive technical leadership, root-cause investigations, and mitigation in mission-critical systems.
• Balance technical rigor with practical timelines and resources across programs.
• Represent the organization at external forums and standards bodies.
• Mentor teams and shape sector-wide practice for radiation hardening.
