Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Radiation & Survivability Fellow to lead enterprise strategy for space radiation effects and nuclear hardness across programs. You will set standards, drive advanced test methodologies, and interface with customers, government labs, and industry partners.

The role requires deep expertise in TID/SEE, DD, SGEMP, and related phenomena, with senior leadership experience and active security clearances. Location is flexible across NG sites in the continental U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline; 20+ years of engineering experience or\nMaster’s with 18+ years; PhD with 15+ years; U.S. citizen with SCI/SSBI or Top Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in TID, SEE, DD, prompt dose, SGEMP, neutron effects, and related phenomena.
  • Proven ability to lead technical performers or teams and interface with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as enterprise authority in radiation effects, nuclear hardness and survivability.
  • Define standards for Radiation Hardness Assurance and guide testing methodologies.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and mitigation for high-consequence survivability issues.
  • Advise senior leadership on go/no-go decisions and program risk postures.
  • Influence external standards bodies and shape long-range technology roadmaps.
  • Act as primary technical liaison with customers, gov't agencies, labs and partners.
