Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls seeks a Radiological Health Physicist to join the Environment, Safety, Health and Quality team. You will perform regulatory impact reviews, dosimetry investigations, and develop corrective actions to improve the Radiation Protection program.

The role involves designing radiation-detection instrumentation, developing training for health physicists and technicians, and preparing technical reports and briefings for senior leadership.

Formación

• Level 2 requires BS in health physics, nuclear engineering, or related science and 2 years of related professional experience; or a masters/PhD.
• Level 3 requires BS in health physics, nuclear engineering, or related science and 5 years of related professional experience or masters/PhD and 2 years.
• Experience in health physics field (academic, DOE, NRC, etc.).
• Experience with health physics software programs.
• Ability to obtain DOE security clearance; HRP designation possibly.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain DOE 'Q' clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Perform regulatory impact reviews, technical evaluations, and support for Radiation Protection programs per 10 CFR 835 and DOE orders.
• Interpret test results and conduct dosimetry exposure investigations.
• Identify deficiencies, develop corrective actions, and review regulatory applicability.
• Provide analysis from designing radiation-detection instrumentation to establishing technical bases for radiological standards.
• Develop training programs for future health physicists and radiological technicians.
• Prepare materials and briefings for senior leadership and program sponsors.
• May participate in national or international standards setting.
