Job summary

The position requires 3 months of x-ray and mammography training with placement in Salt Lake City. It is an exempt, full-time role with a strong focus on patient and staff safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Experience as medical physicist assistant or radiologic technologist preferred.
• Fluent understanding of diagnostic x-ray and fluoroscopic equipment performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform performance evaluations, acceptance testing, and annual surveys on diagnostic x-ray equipment under supervision.
• Assist in audits and inspections of radiation safety programs to ensure compliance with NRC and state regulations.
• Support Radiation Protection Programs development, implementation, and review for medical clients.
• Analyze occupational dosimetry data and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Assist shielding evaluations and design reviews for imaging facilities.
• Conduct area surveys, contamination checks, and exposure assessments.
• Coordinate with regulators during inspections and assist clients in audits.
• Deliver training on radiation safety and ALARA principles.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in physics, medical physics, health physics, radiologic science, biomedical engineering, or a related field
