Battelle Energy Alliance, supervising Idaho National Laboratory, seeks a Radiological Health Physicist to perform regulatory impact reviews, technical evaluations, dosimetry investigations, and development of corrective actions within the Environment, Safety, Health and Quality team.

The role involves designing radiation detection instrumentation, authoring technical reports for senior leadership, and contributing to training programs for health physicists and radiological technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in health physics, nuclear engineering, or related science with 2 years of experience or a master's/PhD.
• Level 3 requires 5 years of related experience or a master's/PhD with 2 years more experience.
• Experience in health physics field (academic, DOE, NRC, etc.).
• Experience with health physics software programs.

Responsabilités

• Perform oversight and input on Radiation Protection program implementation per 10 CFR 835 and DOE orders.
• Interpret test results and perform internal and external dosimetry exposure investigations.
• Identify deficiencies and develop corrective actions; provide guidance for radiological control policies and procedures.
• Design and select radiation-detection instrumentation and establish technical basis for laboratory radiation protection standards.
• Develop training programs for health physicists and radiological technicians; prepare materials for reports and briefings.
