Job summary

DISA Technologies in Denver seeks an experienced Health Physicist to develop and maintain radiation protection programs ensuring worker, public, and environmental safety from ionizing radiation. You will lead field activities, oversee surveys, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and site procedures.

The role requires a strong practical background in radiological controls, dosimetry, and license compliance, with significant travel to remote remediation sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or closely related technical field.
• CHP or NRPT certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience with uranium remediation, source material handling, or radioactive material shipping.
• 10+ years of practical health physics experience and radiation protection.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and regulatory submittals.
• Ability to work independently and lead field activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing radiation protection programs for multiple licenses.
• Develop and continually improve radiological controls procedures.
• Perform radiological surveys and release surveys for personnel and areas.
• Evaluate radiological hazards and prepare work permits and procedures.
• Provide field support for remediation, decommissioning, and waste handling.
• Manage dosimetry programs and annual dose reporting.
• Investigate incidents and generate corrective actions.
• Maintain inventory control, labeling, and shipment documentation.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot radiation detection instruments.
