Job summary
Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our team in Peoria, Illinois. You will provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, collaborating closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists.
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, ABR certification, and an IEMA license. We offer a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates, with potential partial remote work
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
- ABR certification is required.
- IEMA license as Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy is required.
- Clinical medical physics experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
- Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and QA.
- Develop and implement departmental physics policies and QA programs.
- Serve as the Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, and staff education.
