Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full‑time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. The role provides physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT, while upholding QA, safety, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, with ABR certification and IEMA licensure. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available, with partial remote work possible for nearby candidates.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physics or related field.
• ABR Certification is required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
• Oversee QA programs, equipment testing, commissioning, calibration, and ongoing QA.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
• Participate in department quality improvement initiatives, safety meetings and strategic planning.
• Assist with staff education, orientation, and technical instruction.
• Support innovation and program development within radiation oncology.
• Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus available; partial remote work may be considered.
