Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. The role provides comprehensive medical physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, working in a physician-partnered environment.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in Physics, ABR certification, and an IEMA license; experience in clinical medical physics is preferred. Sign-on and relocation assistance are available, with partial remote work considered for nearby

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field.
ABR Therapeutic Radiologic Physics certification required.
IEMA Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy license required.
Experience in medical physics or related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services (EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT).
Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
Oversee QA, acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and ongoing safety programs.
Develop, implement, and maintain departmental physics policies and procedures.
Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
Educate staff and students; contribute to clinical projects and program development.
