Job summary
Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. The role provides comprehensive medical physics support across external beam, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, with a focus on collaboration and safety.
The position includes leadership as Radiation Safety Officer, development of QA programs, and opportunities to participate in education, clinical projects, and program development. Partial remote work may be considered for eligible candidates.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field.
- ABR Therapeutic Radiologic Physics certification required.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) required.
- Experience in medical physics or a related clinical setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
- Oversee equipment testing, commissioning, calibration, and QA programs.
- Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and QA procedures.
- Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
