Job summary
Carle Health in Peoria, IL, seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology Physicist to provide medical physics support across EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, collaborating with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
Required ABR Therapeutic Radiologic Physics certification and IEMA Radiation Therapist license; master's or PhD in Physics; sign-on bonus and relocation assistance; partial remote work may be considered for candidates within driving distance
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Physics or related field.
- ABR Certification (Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics) is required.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
- Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and ongoing QA.
- Develop and maintain departmental physics policies, procedures and QA programs.
- Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
