Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, Illinois team. The role provides comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, and collaborates closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.

Candidates must hold ABR certification and IEMA licensure, with leadership in radiation safety and QA.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• ABR Therapeutic Radiologic Physics certification required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) required.
• Experience in medical physics or a related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services (EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT).
• Oversee QA programs, policies, and departmental physics procedures.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
• Assist with staff education, orientation, and credentialing.
