Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to provide comprehensive medical physics support across EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT. The role requires ABR certification and IEMA licensure, with leadership in safety, QA, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics (ABR) – required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) – required.
• Experience in medical physics or a related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Oversee QA programs, calibration, and commissioning of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (IEMA, NRC, ACR, DNV).
• Lead radiation safety, shielding, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize planning and delivery.
• Participate in education and staff development, and contribute to program development.
