Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, Illinois, seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to provide medical physics support for external beam RT, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT, collaborating with physicians, dosimetrists and therapists.

The role requires ABR certified Therapeutic Radiologic Physics and IEMA licensed Radiologic Technologist, with a Master’s or PhD in Physics. Sign-on and relocation assistance are available, and partial remote work may be considered for nearby candidates.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
ABR certification (Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics) required.
IEMA licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy required.
Experience in medical physics or related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and QA programs.
Develop and maintain physics policies, procedures and QA protocols in the department.
Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
Lead education, orientation and technical instruction for staff and students.
