Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks an experienced Test Director to lead RADAR system testing across development and deployment programs. You will plan, coordinate, and execute developmental and operational testing to validate performance, reliability, and requirements adherence, with authority to halt testing for safety concerns.

This role requires strong technical leadership, 10+ years in testing, 5+ years with RADAR, and experience coordinating with government agencies.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering.
• Minimum 10 years in systems testing or test management.
• Minimum 5 years in RADAR testing, development, or operations.
• Strong understanding of radar system principles and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with DoD test and evaluation methodologies and directives.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active Secret clearance (Top Secret if needed).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and schedules for RADAR developmental and operational testing.
• Define objectives, scope, and success criteria based on requirements and goals.
• Coordinate with management, engineering, and logistics to ensure test readiness.
• Direct and oversee all RADAR testing activities (lab, field, operational environments).
• Monitor test execution for adherence to plans, procedures, and safety.
• Serve as primary decision-maker during test events and halt testing if safety concerns arise.
• Travel up to five months at a time to customer sites.
• Lead IPT and manage budgets as CAM; supervise multidisciplinary test teams.
• Coordinate with government test agencies; present status and plans.
